When Anane, a Syrian girl who witnessed her family's massacre, finally arrives in Paris after a dangerous escape to Europe and distressing weeks spent in a Greek refugee camp, it seems that her dream has come true. Unfortunately, at the same moment, there is a huge police raid rolling through the French capital following the terrorist attack at the Bataclan Club. Even worse, one of the wanted terrorists is her uncle to whom she came to France.
Although it's soon proved that she's not linked to the attack, she loses her temporary E.U. visa and, together with Leila, the little girl accompanying her, they find themselves in the middle of a foreign and often hostile continent, without any valid documents, money, or local contacts.
But if you promised to take care of someone, you can't give it up.
Thus begins the riveting story of Anane's unbreakable will to survive and her strong bond to Leila. It's a story of murder, love, hope, and passion for music, all of which lead Anane and Leila, firstly from Paris to Prague, to a young musicians' community, and finally back to Paris to long lost family roots.
